Description
A pregnancy journal made for real life — not the highlight reel
Every pregnancy journal I could find fell into one of two categories. The beautiful, aspirational kind, full of prompts about “what joy feels like in your body today.” Or the purely functional kind with appointment grids, nothing more.
Neither reflected the pregnancy I actually had. The one where I was tired, a little anxious on some days, trying to keep track of everything, and also quietly hoping for a space that made room for the honest version of this experience.
So I made the one I needed. This free journal is where that started.
What’s inside your free Pregnancy Journal
Due Date Calculator
Work out your estimated due date from your last menstrual period, then record the confirmed date from your dating scan. A gentle reminder included: only 5% of babies arrive on their exact due date.
Trimester Snapshot Pages × 3
One page per trimester: First, Second, Third. Space for symptoms, aversions, cravings, accomplishments, thoughts, feelings, and weight. A photo box for a belly photo if you want one, or your ultrasound. Fill in each one as you move through pregnancy, not all at once.
Meal Planning Grid
A weekly breakfast, lunch, and dinner grid. Use it when you have the headspace, skip it when you don’t. Especially useful in the second trimester when energy returns and nutrition starts to matter more practically.
Prenatal Vitamin Tracker
List your supplements and tick each day. Simple, takes five seconds, and genuinely helpful for staying consistent, because prenatal supplements are one of the highest-value things you can do for your baby’s development.
Hospital Bag Checklist
Three columns: Mum, Dad, and Baby. Blank lines so you customise it to your clinic’s requirements. Start filling this in around Week 32 or earlier than you think you need to.
Birth Plan Summary Page
A quick-glance summary covering labour environment, pain management, what happens during labour, C-section preferences, and after birth. Not a rigid plan, a clear record of what matters to you, designed to be handed to anyone in the room at a moment’s notice.
Baby Names Shortlist
Girl shortlist, boy shortlist, and a final shortlist for both. Write names down as they occur to you throughout pregnancy, you can cross them out later. Some of the best names come from unexpected moments.
Baby is Here! Keepsake Page
Photo box, name, date, weight, and length. Fill this in the day they arrive, or in the first few days. This is the page that will matter most in ten years.
How to use it
There’s no right order. Skip pages that don’t apply to you right now. Revisit others as often as you like. This journal is here to support you, not to add pressure.
One suggestion: don’t skip the Thoughts and Feelings sections on each trimester page. You don’t have to write a paragraph, just a sentence, a word, something true about how this week actually felt. Pregnancy moves faster than it feels like it does from the inside, and the texture of these weeks fades more quickly than you’d expect. Write something down, for yourself, for later.
To print: Print at 100% scale on A4 paper. Most copy shops in Mauritius will print and lightly bind it for you at low cost, ask for double-sided printing to keep it compact.
To use digitally: Open on a tablet or phone. Some PDF readers allow you to type directly into the fields.
