Your Pregnancy, Week by Week
Every week of pregnancy is a different world. The week you found out is nothing like the week you hear the heartbeat for the first time, which is nothing like the week you feel her move, which is nothing like the week you sit in the car at 38 weeks wondering if tonight is the night.
This page follows you through all of it. Each week has its own guide, what is happening to your baby, what is happening to your body, what is normal, what to do, and what to ask at your next appointment. Written for Mauritius, from a mum who has been through every one of these weeks on this island.
Click your week below to find exactly where you are right now.
A note on weeks:
In Mauritius, your gynaecologist may refer to SA (semaines d’aménorrhée) — counted from the first day of your last period. International guides often use weeks of pregnancy (SG/semaines de grossesse) — counted from conception, which is 2 weeks later.
Your 8 SA = week 6 of pregnancy.
Throughout this site we use SA to match what your but each article shows both.
